Facebook Feb. 19, 2017: Estrella Warbirds Museum welcomed Dick Rutan for a fly in visit. Dick was an Air Force pilot who flew the F-100 “Super Sabre” during the Vietnam War. In addition to records he set while flying Voyager (which consisted of multiple distance records, a speed record, and being the first plane to fly non-stop around the world, more than doubling the old distance record set by a Boeing B-52 bomber in 1962), he has also set a number of records in his personal Long-EZ that he flew in today. Claremont Heritage and Paul Bockhorst Productions are pleased to announce the premiere of a 90-minute documentary examining the vital relationship between art and architecture in Claremont in the years following War II. This documentary complements an earlier production, “Design for Modern Living: Millard Sheets and the Claremont Art Community, 1935-1975.” While the latter surveys art and craft in Claremont in the postwar period, “Claremont Modern” examines architecture and design in the same timeframe.
